MADISON'S INDEPENDENT MEDIA KICKS OFF FIGHTING BOB FEST WEEKEND WITH A CELEBRATION AT THE HIGH NOON SALOON SEPTEMBER 9th

(Madison, WI) Dozens of independent journalists, media outlets, and activists and will gather for a 'Peoples' Media Mash' to benefit and celebrate the role of independent media in building community and social movements in Madison and beyond.

The public is invited to Madison's High Noon Saloon on Thursday September 9th from 6:30 pm to Midnight. (The High Noon Saloon is located at 701 E. Washington Avenue. $5 donation at the door.)

Some of Madison's favorites will be performing, including:
7-8pm - Marques Bovre & SoDangYang <www.myspace.com/marquesbovre>;

11pm-midnight - The Pinch <www.cdbaby.com/Artist/ThePinch>.

The musical celebration brings together Madison’s community of independent media organizations and media activists: magazines, think tanks, websites, radio stations, blogs, newspapers, and TV. The party will also officially kick off with a bang the weekend's annual Fighting Bob Fest (which will also include an evening event Friday September 10th at the Barrymore in Madison, and a day-long event Saturday September 11th at the Sauk County Fairgrounds in Baraboo, WI).
